Single Lash Premieres New Video on Revolver Mag

Single Lash's Nic Nadeau​ developed his aesthetic for music, fashion and art in early adolescence, which left him at odds with the traditional surroundings of his childhood in suburban San Antonio. The title of Single Lash's debut LP Providence (out October 26, 2018) ​is a reference to his escape to art college in Rhode Island where he set out to craft his talent for painting and visual art. Nadeau​ didn't anticipate the intense gravitational allure of the local noise and experimental music scenes which quickly inspired him to start playing guitar and writing songs. Nadeau naturally evolved a texture based approach to guitar, echoing the ubiquitous effects of the post-punk and industrial bands that first piqued his interest in music. Nadeau​’s lyrics became the therapeutic outlet to navigate his lifelong feelings of isolation, ​adopting the moniker Single Lash​ from the outset. After releasing several solo demo tapes and relocating to Austin, Nadeau expanded Single Lash​ into a band, recruiting talented multi-instrumentalists such as Neil Lord of Thousand Foot Whale Claw​ and Future Museums​. Single Lash​ ​is now fully orchestrated, and Providence i​s their breakout effort to establish themselves as an important new voice in underground music.

Samantha Glass Unveils Two New Tracks

From rural beginnings in the Wisconsin countryside, Samantha Glass spent most of their adult life engrossed in Madison’s noise, power violence and punk DIY scenes. Glass ​sought to create a balanced form of art representative of their fluid sexuality and gender identity while incorporating elements of darkwave, musique concrète and new age music. Samantha Glass has ​evolved into an outlet for drag-based performance art coupled with drum machines, cassette loops and down-tempo crooning. Through years of touring and a prolific discography, Glass ​came to be known beyond the Midwest as one of the most dense and multi-layered projects amongst experimental music spheres. This exploratory essence gives Glass​ a broad crossover appeal as they narrate a uniquely nuanced perspective on life and art. Now based out of Austin, Samantha Glass​ untangles their serpentine mind on the ambitious new full length Nine Memories Between Impression & Imprint​ out October 12, 2018​. This week Ms. Glass was nice enough to share two new tracks ahead of the album release date.

Austin’s preeminent shoegaze ensemble Single Lash​ unleashes the new video for "Frozen Honey" - the second single from their debut full-length Providence​ out October 26, 2018 on LP, cassette and digital download​. Following the premiere of the first single "Come True" and the album announcement, Single Lash put together a classic industrial warehouse shoot that perfectly captures the aesthetic of the song and the band. Singer Nic Nadeau's dejected vibrato and texture based approach to guitar is complemented by a smooth and catchy rhythm section making this track truly infectious. First making an appearance on the Holodeck Vision One compiliation from early 2018, Single Lash's heavy walls of effects drenched guitars and synthesizers back Nadeau’s dejected vibrato and woefully honest song writing, epitomizing the art of crestfallen chic. Single Lash loquently expresses the pain of regret with humble exposition and thick layers of feedback draped across a driving rhythm section. Providence  the breakout effort from Single Lash, and we are pleased to make them the newest edition to the Holodeck roster.

Vehlinggo Premieres New Track from Sungod

Austin based psych collective Sungod returns to Holodeck with the transcendent new full length Wave Refraction, out August 24, 2018. Reflecting a wide range of influences, Sungod’s method of experimentation is reminiscent of the early stages of Kraftwerk and Pink Floyd. Sungod is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalists Michael C. Sharp and Braden Balentine, whose friendship formed around a mutual love for reinterpreting the established to create something wholly original. Earlier this week, they unveiled a beautiful new track from the upcoming record.

Since 2010, Beau Devereaux as chronicled their romantic and turbulent process of self-identification as Samantha Glas through the use of electronics, field recordings and a seductive, baritone voice. Abstract soundscapes rise and fall around addictively brooding ballads and introspective monologues as Glass econstructs themself beneath the weight of their poetry and lyrics. At times delicately wistful and intensely personal, Nine Memories Between Impression and Imprint is Devereaux’s culminating effort to define Samantha Glass thus far.
