Missions Drops a New Video on LP Release Day

Today, LA-based producer Missions releases their electro-pop brilliance into the world with the debut full-length, Subcreature. As a longtime friend of Holodeck, Josh Mills has collaborated with Stranger Things composers Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein and is the producer/bandmate of Parisian pop starlet Lou Rebecca. Now on their highly anticipated solo album as Missions, Mills' injects a vibrant groove into the often cold realm of contemporary synthpop.

The new mushroom dipped 3D animated video for the new single "Confused"premiered today on Self-Titled, setting Mills' vocoder drenched hopelessly romantic lyrics against a morphing neon backdrop of yin yangs and smiley faces. This amazing work is the latest banger of the long-running partnership between Missionsand art/film collective VIDKIDZ and is a great way to celebrate the release of Subcreature.

Following the success of the 2017 LP Shadow World, Austin-based ambient 2-step producer VVV returns to Holodeck with an expansive new EP entitled Spreading Primrose out October 11, 2019 on limited edition cassette with deluxe vellum packaging. VVV's seamless fusion of samples, studio engineering and hardware synthesizers coalesce into immersive soundscapes and infectious half-time beats, piquing the interests of club DJs and ambient music lovers alike. The ominously addictive melodies and driving rhythms of the new single "Living Above Your Head" give an exciting peek into his latest body of work as VVV once again elevates his technique. Arising at the forefront of contemporary underground pop, Chicago-based duo GRÜN WASSER artfully bend and reconfigure popular trends in dance music with songs that are as instantly appealing as they are fascinating. Since 2015, vocalist Keely Dowd and producer Essej Pollock have blurred the boundaries of art, songwriting and performance with two self-released albums and a dynamic live act that fits within a variety of niche genres and scenes. Los Angeles-based solo producer Josh Mills adds a fresh rhythmic step and rich emotional gradient to the archetypal darkwave narrative as Missions. Born and raised in Texas, Mills spent the bulk of his adult life developing his craft within the dense synth community of Austin alongside bands like S U R V I V E and BOAN. Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2017, Mills has maintained a heavy collaborative side to his career, working with Emmy Award winning Stranger Things composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein as well as writing, producing and performing with Parisian pop starlet Lou Rebecca.

Now on his debut full length Subcreature, Mills constructs infectious beats interspersed with moments of pure cinematic beauty, mastering the intricate balance of style and technique. This impressive collection of addictive bass lines and smooth drum beats are produced and arranged with the proficiency of a polished studio engineer, while the core of Mills’ craftsmanship exploring the shaded nuances of seduction and vulnerability.
